Herbs and Vegetables

Summer is a season of fast growth in the herb and vegetable garden.


The nursery has a great selection of seedlings and 10cm & 20cm sized pots.


Growing your own herbs, fruit and vegetables is fun and rewarding and allows you and your family to access produce free of chemicals. It’s also a great activity for children and grandchildren; hopefully encouraging them to eat what they grow!


Herbs not only add flavour to your meals but they also have a number of health benefits. Pick frequently to avoid going to seed. In the summer months you can successfully grow rosemary, parsley, sage, oregano, basil, chves, coriander, dill, thyme and mint.


Vegies to plant now:

cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, cucumber, endive, leek, lettuce, bok choi, spinach, spring onion, strawberry

  • Lettuce - ready for harvest from 5 weeks
  • Leek - ready for harvest in 12-14 weeks
  • Carrot - ready for harvest in 6-8 weeks
  • Cucumber - ready for harvest in 6-8 weeks
  • Silverbeet – ready for harvest 5-8 weeks
  • Beetroot – ready for harvest in 8-10 weeks
  • Broccoli – ready for harvest in 10-12 weeks
